About:
Susie Miller is a visual Artist based in Dublin, Ireland, currently in her final year, studying Fine Art Media at The National College of Art and Design.
She is a multimedia artist working in a Fluxus manner. Her work often manifests through forms of image making, moving image and installation processes. Interested in existentialism, her visual art practice interrogates the forms of alienation and dissonance within both traditional and contemporary Irish culture. Influenced by absurdism, she draws from personal perspective as well as past and present forms of meaning-making, often sourcing from unexpected places. Her work examines the everyday through a mystical and sometimes suspicious lens. She explores the tension between functionality and intentionality, questioning perceptions of what is considered ‘natural’ and ‘artificial’ in contemporary society.
Her work serves as an attempt to embrace meaninglessness, using creation itself as an act of rebellion.
